anthem

  • Oct. 23rd, 2009 at 12:32 AM
woosh
looking through songs trying to find a march-in (why the heck call it a march? horrible), came by this song i've always liked.

i've got a right to be wrong
my mistakes will make me strong
i'm stepping out into the great unknown
i'm feeling wings though i've never flown
got a mind of my own
flesh & blood to the bone (i'm not made of stone)

got a right to be wrong
so just leave me alone

got a right to be wrong
i've been held down too long
i've got to break free
so i can finally breathe

got a right to be wrong
gotta sing my own song
i might be singing out of key
but it sure feels good to me
got a right to be wrong
so just leave me alone

you're entitled to your opinion
but its really my decision
i can't turn back i'm on a mission
if you care don't you dare burn my vision
let me be all that i can be
don't smother me with negativity
whatever's out there waiting for me
i'm gonna face it willingly

got a right to be wrong
my mistakes will make me strong
i'm stepping out into the great unknown
i'm feeling wings though i've never flown
i've got a mind of my own
flesh & blood to the bone (see i'm not made of stone)

got a right to be wrong
so just leave me alone

got a right to be wrong
i've been held down too long
i've got to break free
so i can finally breathe

got a right to be wrong
gotta sing my own song
i might be singing out of key
but it sure feels good to me
got a right to be wrong
so just leave me alone

- right to be wrong, joss stone

i'm using the conference computer now which has a dreamily fast connection. thing is, since no one can figure out the website for aza-lite, i can't check my damned office email, & the hotel connection+stupid office security software = nightmare for loading outlook.

this trip to taipei has not been enjoyable for me. the company has been great, doctors are really such great people. just that i seem to have lost my taste for such things. maybe it's because i have so much to do back home.

wah so many things

at the resort that is awana porto malai langkawi, this is the sight that greeted me when i stepped through the door of my hotel room.

very normal, albeit a bit outdated. but hey, langkawi = relaxed pace = outdated decor = acceptable right?

this is what you see from the other end of the room.

- note the sink that's *hey!* next to the bed. very convenient i must say...

now, what would you find in the toilet of a hotel room, other than a sink?

walk on....

like duh, the shower lor? check out the soap dispenser. that covers the 'complimentary toiletries' part of the hotel's value proposition.

gee wow, where's the bowl?

tada!

i must say, if i were travelling on my own vacation, i won't mind paying, lets say, 40bucks for this room.

but it cost rm195, and i had guests put up here as well. ha!

as mentioned in my earlier post, i got to drive.

it was a hoot! here's my race car.

- 3 digit plate saved $8 for me coz never buy 4D.

i drove, with the help of 2 brilliant navigators, to the Four Seasons. they had their own beach which was very wide & very long. gorgeous stuff.

we also went to restaurant bon ton which was very quaint & nice.

- nonya platter with 9 dishes. seafood platter too. yumz.

overall, it was an enjoyable trip because i really enjoyed driving there & searching out these fantastic joints.

so moral of the story is, if you go to langkawi, consider renting a car coz it doesn't matter which shitheap you stay in.

------------

a little something on my kl stay

the boulevard hotel was fun coz the room was decent & it's connected to mid valley megamall. yay!

i had kfc on day 1 coz i missed 'civilization'.

went to a taiwanese place called 'fong lye' later. the steamboat set is so cute.

- check out the little piggy fishcake slices

the funny thing about boulevard hotel was that on day 1 i had 4 bath towels. day 2, i had 2. day 3, i had 2 bath towels + 2 face towels.

so now i really think i used someone's used towels on day 1.

i try not to think about it too much.

they also had a very cute little letter on the desk informing us about their ongoing lift upgrading project.

------------

i'm so glad to be back.

homecoming!

langkawi was fun mainly because i got to drive around. i think it was a proton waja. to think that i only rented a car because of the taxi strike. in langkawi!

oh well, it was a blessing in disguise.

then again if my navigation skills were worth (some) shit i may have rented the car from the start...

as for the hotel room. i was lucky to be warned by my colleagues about the very interesting rooms at the conference hotel. it was the first time i LOL-ed upon entering a room. it was like.. a hotelier's vision of a federal pen...

thank goodness i'm in kl now.

pics to follow, unless i get wireless access soon. hurhur.

lalalala!

ack!

so i was reading some magazine last night & came across a bit of useful information:

did you know smells can affect your dreams? people who are exposed to pleasant smells when they sleep tend to have nice dreams, while bad smells can induce nightmares. so light some aromatherapy oils tonight for sweet dreams!'

now, mr yeo was happily dozing away *awwwwwwwww my baby* & i thought i would do something sweet. i decided to help out in the dream segment.

so, i lighted some vanilla aromatherapy oil & was pretty happy with the way things were working out.

after an hour or so of sweet smellin', the giant wakes up & roarrrrs!

WHAT'S THAT SMELL???!!! HORRIBLE!!! EXTINGUISH IT!!!!

he then proceeds to toss & turn in bed in a huffy, puffy, blow your house down kinda way.

....

but still not happy.

so, he grabs the t-shirt he wore in the day & puts it on his face.

smell myself lagi better than smell that disgusting vanilla scent.

.......

but still not happy.

what does mr yeo do?

he peers into the toiletries cupboard & emerges with a can of.......

DEEP HEAT

& sprays himself on the chest & back.

see how much i hate it! aromaTORTURE ah!'

....

bleah. it was only vanilla! pfffffffffffffffffft!

i'm getting old

at home now coz i was getting the chills in the office. the boss was nice enough to let me off early... phew, i thought i was about to KO & slide off my chair by end of day otherwise.

hope i'm ok by tomorrow!

many things have happened recently, all of them pretty damn good. now now, i'm not referring to 31 May as only 'pretty damn good' ya, that was on a whole different plane. i guess i'm referring directly to yesterday. it was an exciting day with good news coming from different directions.

plus, it was fun jesting with a dear retired pugilist dotty who is willing to come outta retirement for me. ha!

maybe that's why i couldn't sleep till 2. hmmm.

=)

now, skin be good. please?

no!

ok i've decided to chronicle my acne 'progress' so that i will remember NOT to take my skin for granted in future.

this is me on 25 May, on Day 6 of isotretinoin treatment.

- forehead. like, duh.

- left cheek.

i seriously think this is payback for no serious teenage acne.

an atypical saturday

  • May. 23rd, 2009 at 9:25 PM
no!
so mr yeo picked up an injury at soccer today. now he has to use crutches!

it was kinda cute how the nurse came forward with a roll of bandages. when she found out it wasn't an ankle sprain but a very bad calf muscle strain, she was like 'eh? like that need to wrap or not?'. then she decided, what the hey, just do it.

i like that coz it helps me remember which leg not to kick (by accident, of course).

the staff were all very nice so it made everything feel ok.

(i had to tell the dessert stall aunty off though).
